The Heart Fella's
September 07, 2026
In August/September, Liam (The Tubz Fella) and Charlie Lillis, our current player, (The Chaz Fella) will walk from Malin Head to Mizen Head, the length of Ireland, in just 15 days. Accompanied by their great driver Darragh Byrne (The Burnzy Fella).
This challenge is about far more than the miles.
Two years ago, Tubz underwent a life-saving triple bypass operation. The team at Cork University Hospital’s cardiovascular unit gave him a second chance, and Liam and Charlie are taking on this challenge to help give something back.
There’s another remarkable twist to the story: Tubz completed this same journey back in 1988 with Mick "Ozzy" Kelly, who unfortunately has since passed away from heart problems. Nearly four decades later, after major heart surgery, Tubz is returning to the same road once again.
Every donation will go towards supporting the cardiovascular unit at Cork University Hospital, a cause that is very close to his heart, pardon the pun.
Liam and Charlie would be hugely grateful for any support, whether that’s a donation, sharing our fundraiser, or cheering us on along the way.
Thank you very much.
"The Heart Fellas".
Killavullen GAA are trying to keep up with Charlie, as he comes closer to us.
At lunchtime on Monday, he was 10 KM’s outside Gort, and it was raining , wet and wild, he said, then on Tuesday, the plan is to be in Newmarket On Fergus, on Wednesday in Croom, and Thursday in Mallow, Friday in Cork City, and onwards toward Mizen Head
Killavullen GAA asks you to plug these two remarkable lads, in your social channels.

It is a huge undertaking, to walk that distance, and more remarkable to have a young man, like Charlie Lillis that we are very proud of, for his civic minded attitude.
