Brave & gallant effort by Div 3 Side

Last Monday night, in Mitchelstown, Killavullen went under to the local participants in the latest instalment of the Division 3 league. In reality, the Mitchelstown team assembled on the night, with the sprinklings of Intermediate panels players, like Pat Molloy and Steven Kenneally would trouble a Division 1 team, in Avondhu.
Killavullen scored a great goal though, when a swivel and shimmy from Mark Nagle put three opposition players on the ground, but we could not get enough ball to Mark. The same player also contributed two fine points from open play, and the other scores that we got came from Colin Carey and Billy Norris.
Darragh in goals who was brave and decisive best served Killavullen, and Thomas Fennel shone out in a full back line, that was besieged throughout the game. We were unlucky to loose Patrick Angland as well, and his loss and experience was acute. Cian O Connor was excellent in trying to stem the tide, as was Dominic Bolster and Sean Bartley. Sean Palmer picked up a muscle injury that limited his involvement but he played on. Up front, our forwards put in a gallant shift, and no more could be demanded.
