Big win for Ballyclough over youthful Division 3 team
April 21, 2024
Killavullen fielded a very young team, in this Division 3 game, played in Ballyclough, on Friday night last. Though comprehensively beaten, the team, acquitted themselves very well, but Ballyclough would have aspirations of county Junior B hurling success, and that is a level above most teams in Division 3.
The older and physically stronger Ballyclough team, won well in the middle third of the field, and that meant a huge amount of balls was raining down on our defence. Though they coped admirably, Ballyclough had too much firepower on the night, despite the best efforts of players such as Eoin O Hanlon, Sean Bartley and Sean Palmer, who put their hand up, for inclusion in the Junior A Team. Rory Regan, Owen Magner, Kian Lane and Colm Hannon displayed nice touches, on a tough work out, but one which will bring us forward measurably in this adult grade.
